Assistant Farm Manager – Full-Time

O’Sullivan Farms in Charles Town, WV is looking for a full-time assistant farm manager and requires the following:

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience working with thoroughbred racehorses, stallions, mares and foals 

• Proficiency in giving vaccinations and medications including IV and IM and eye meds           

• Must be able to manage and work with the rest of the staff

• Ability to drive a truck and gooseneck trailer

• Knowledge of Windows Horse Farm Manager is a plus

Position Details

• Full-time, 48 hours per week/ 6 days per week

• Compensation is consistent with the candidates capabilities and experience

Responsibilities

• Daily oversight and care of horses of all ages

• Managing horse health and reporting changes to supervisor

• Working closely with farm staff and supervising management to maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment

• Overseeing and assisting in foaling, breeding and sales prep

Groom – Full-Time (Studs, Mares, Foals & Yearlings and racehorses)

O’Sullivan Farms in Charles Town, WV is seeking a dependable, motivated Full-Time Groom to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with horses and thrives in a collaborative farm environment.

Position Details

• Full-time, 48 hours per week/ 6 days per week

Responsibilities

• Daily care and handling of horses of all ages

• Assisting with turnouts, grooming, bathing, and stall maintenance

• Monitoring horse health and reporting changes to management

• Working closely with farm staff to maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment

• Supporting foaling, breeding, or veterinary care as needed

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with mares, foals, and yearlings

• Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work well with others

• Ability to handle the physical demands of the job and work in all weather conditions

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality horse care
